Earth Care

Highland has been certified as an Earth Care Congregation by the Presbyterian Hunger Program! To become an Earth Care Congregation, Highland affirmed an Earth Care Pledge to integrate environmental practices and thinking into our worship, education, facilities, and outreach.
The Earth Care Congregation certification is designed to recognize churches that make the commitment to take seriously God’s charge to “till and keep” the garden.
Our goals:
- Increase awareness and sense of responsibility as an Earth Care congregation; and
- Activate Highland’s members and the community at large to improve their own piece of Creation.

Highland has also become a partner congregation with Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake, by signing their pledge. Click here to read the pledge.
