A Church That Loves Children
We don’t just welcome children, we celebrate them. When a child cries in the sanctuary or runs through the narthex, we delight in the sound. Their laughter and joy are signs of life, hope, and God’s Spirit moving in our building. We believe the church needs the innocence, curiosity, and energy of children as much as children need the love and guidance of the church.
Children Are Disciples Today
At Highland, we see children and youth not as “the church of tomorrow” but as disciples of Christ today. Their voices matter. We listen to their ideas, their needs, and their concerns, and we include them in the conversations and life of our congregation.
Supporting Families on the Faith Journey
We know raising children is both joyful and challenging, and we are here to support families every step of the way. Through worship, age-appropriate learning, service opportunities, and intergenerational events, we help children and families grow in faith together.
Our Hope
Our prayer is that every family who joins us will discover a safe, loving community where faith can flourish, friendships can grow, and where children can experience God’s love firsthand.
At Highland Presbyterian Church, children remind us of the joy, wonder, and hope that Christ brings. We are grateful for their presence, their energy, and their voices among us.

Children Kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to remain with their grown-ups in the sanctuary until the Children’s Blessing is offered in worship. SafeChurch volunteers will escort children to their classrooms for a Bible lesson, activity, and fellowship (children should be registered for Sunday School before going into the sanctuary). Activity bags are available to all children in the narthex for them to use while waiting to go to Sunday School, or if they prefer to stay with their adult in the sanctuary.
