Lenten Study Groups: What Makes a Hero?

Lenten Study Groups: What Makes a Hero?

Sign ups begin this Sunday, Feb. 4 for our small group Lenten studies. During the six weeks of Lent, Highland will follow a new spiritual growth experience entitled “What Makes a Hero? The Death Defying Ministry of Jesus.”

Each week will focus on a new topic with 7 different studies to choose from. Small groups of 10-12 people will meet at homes and at the church to explore six ways which Jesus lived his life as what we would call a modern day Hero.  Using 10-12 minute videos and small group conversation, you will have the opportunity to  discuss current pop culture heroes with how Jesus lived and responded to the following life concerns such as Good vs. Evil and God; Right, Wrong and Holy; Us, Them and the Body of Christ; and more!  The follow group studies are available:

  1. Tuesdays  1p.m.-2:30 p.m. – Peggy Apgar facilitator, at Highland
  2. Wednesdays 7:00- 8:30 p.m. –  Roger Rabey facilitator,  at Rabey’s home
  3. Thursdays  7:00-8:30 p.m.  – Allen Stambaugh facilitator, at Allen’s home
