Becoming A Member
All who affirm God as our creator and Jesus Christ as God's son and our savior and redeemer are warmly welcomed to join the Christian fellowship that is Highland Presbyterian Church.
We ask members to make a faithful commitment:
- to worship, by attending weekly Sunday and other worship services;
- to share your talents and time by being involved in those areas of the church's life where your interests lie and where you can make an important contribution to the personal and spiritual growth of others; and
- to be generous in your financial support of Highland as it seeks to do God's will through its ministry and mission.
We believe everyone at Highland is a minister of the Good News of Christ's love and salvation.
We believe that we are stewards of the abundant gifts God provides us. The stewardship of these gifts is the act of living out our faith - putting God first as we live each day.
As you consider membership at Highland, we encourage you to worship with us, become involved in activities and programs of special interest to you, and ask questions about Highland that concern you. The ministers, elders, deacons, trustees and those individuals you know at Highland will be pleased to listen and respond.
To express your intent to join Highland, we invite you to speak to the Rev. Ted
Mingle. He can be reached at the church office at 717-569-2651. His e-mail address is
tedmingle@dejazzd.comYou can also make your intent known by writing a note in the Friendship Book at worship on Sunday.
When you are visiting Highland, please take a few minutes to stop by at the Welcome Center in the Narthex. A member of the Welcoming Team will greet you and make sure your questions are answered and you receive information you specifically want about Highland.
New member orientation classes are held at least four times a year - in February,
April/May, September/October, and December. The next prospective member class
will be held in
the Fall. The date has not been finalized.
