Philippians 1:3-6

Discernment

Reflection: Prayer is so important in our walk with God, to share what is on our heart and to listen to what God wants us to know.  I practice this connection daily and numerous times throughout the day so that I know I am staying close to God and performing the work he has for me to accomplish.

Love, for God and for people around me. Each day during my prayer I ask the Holy Spirit to fill my heart with God’s love.  I want to see people the way God sees them and to share my love with them in ways that he directs me.  We can be so judgmental in our daily life and I pray this prayer so that I don’t judge but love those people I meet each day.

Each day I read the Bible before I start my day so I may grow in knowledge and insight.  I also practice discernment as I face different situations throughout the day and I have to decide an appropriate response or action.  Jesus taught us through the Bible the expectations of God and how we may learn to live pure and blameless or at least try!

The fruit of righteousness includes all the character traits flowing from a right relationship with God.  When we join our lives to God the fruit of righteousness grows in us, the Holy Spirit produces these character traits that are found in the nature of Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for your love, and for your son Jesus. Jesus taught us how to pray, how to show love, how to grow in knowledge, insight and discernment.  He lived a pure and blameless life.  Thank you for caring so much for us and rescuing us through JESUS.
